Textbook Disclaimers

11/23/04 | by David Raffin [mail] | Categories: News/Info, Links

“If your children don’t come home saying, “Evolution is totally cool!” then they are probably receiving science instruction from a teacher who doesn’t think evolution is totally cool. Even if their teacher believes (as almost half of Americans do) that humans were created by a god within the last 10,000 years, his or her job is to teach evolution enthusiastically and without even a hint of tentativeness.”

No class in high school was ever as boring as WA state history. It is clear to me that the instructor hated history. And so did the textbook company, that scoured the textbooks clean of anything remotely interesting or appealing. Then again they made sex ed boring too. A topic appealing to any teenager and the instructor hated sex. In fact, wished to install this hatred for sex with another generation.
Those who can’t do teach. This is a problem in our institutionalized learning facilities. Those who cannot evolve are charged with teaching evolution.

"Not since radical physicist Benny Hill first postulated that time slowed down while being chased by bikini-clad women; however, from the vantage point of the viewer, time sped up, have the masses been witness to such a momentous spectacle."
